And they’re off … the ducks that is.
One of the many annual events of the Campbellsville Fourth of July Celebration to make its return by popular demand is the Duck Derby, which will take place in Trace Creek at Miller Park on July 3rd at 6 p.m.
The basis of the Duck Derby is simple. For $5 you purchase a plastic duck. Each duck comes pre-stamped with a different number. The ducks will be released in Trace Creek and the goal is for your duck to get across the finish line before the rest of the pack.
All of the money raised is donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Green River Ministries.
The grand prize winner will win a big-screen Mitsubishi TV donated by Coppock Appliance & Electronics. Other smaller prizes will be awarded to runners up.
All of the ducks will be held at the starting line in the creek.

At a designated time all of the plastic ducks will be released. The first duck that floats across the finish line, at the foot bridge near the pavilion, will be proclaimed the winner. All decisions of the judges will be final.
All of the money raised is donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
